Spinners and swingers are the steel targets that move and reset themselves: hit the paddle and it spins over the bar or swings back for the next shot. No walk, no reset rope, and instant feedback. Which spinner do I need?

• .22 and airgun — light multi-paddle spinners; cheap, loud, and the best first target for a new shooter.
• Pistol — 3/8" AR500 paddles on a swinging arm; rated from 10 yards.
• Rifle — heavier AR500 swingers with an armoured post; .223 and .308 from 100 yards.
• Portable — ground-spike and folding-base models for public land.

Every spinner page states the caliber rating and the minimum distance; a rimfire spinner shot with a centerfire rifle is the most common way to wreck one.
