Dueling Trees

A dueling tree is a post with paddles on both sides: two shooters start with three each and swing them across to the other side with every hit; the first to clear their side wins. It is the fastest way to turn a range session into a competition, and a reliable tree is a fixture at ranges and clubs.

Which dueling tree do I need?

• Handgun — rated for all non-magnum pistol calibers from 10 yards; the most common range tree.
• Rifle — an armoured centre post so a stray round does not end the tree; .223 and .308 from 100 yards.
• Rimfire and airgun — lighter paddles that flip on a .22.
• Self-healing — no ricochet, any distance, rated by the maker for pistol and rifle.
